SARAH TAMBUCCI, PH.D.

Dr. Sarah Tambucci is Executive Director of the Arts Education Collaborative. Her experience as a visual arts teacher, department chair, principal and adjunct faculty member at regional universities provides her with extensive experience in education and arts. Among her most noteworthy leadership positions is Past President of the National Arts Education Association (NAEA) and Past President of the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA). She is the author of numerous articles on issues related to leadership and policy influencing.

Dr. Tambucci serves on advisory boards and committees that support arts and education throughout the region, state and nation. Among many tributes, she is the 2006 recipient of the Governor's Award for Outstanding Leadership in Arts Education. She is a passionate advocate for the role of the arts as part of a comprehensive education.

 

DORA BARAKY
Director of Operations

Dora Baraky is the Director of Operations for the Arts Education Collaborative. Mrs. Baraky is responsible for developing, monitoring and reporting on operationg, grant, and special project budgets. She is also responsible for developing and overseeing daily accounting procedures. She serves as the liaison to other departments within the Carneige Museums, especially Financial Services and Human Resources. Mrs. Baraky recommends policies and develops procedures to guide the day to day administrative management of the Arts Education Collaborative, along with assisting the Director with administrative, personnel and financial details.

 

DEBORAH BOERSMA

Deborah Boersma,
Project Manager for the Arts Education Collaborative, recently earned her Master of Arts Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University and holds a bachelor's degree in music performance from Illinois Wesleyan University .  Before to coming to the AEC, Deborah spent time managing the Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra, working as a production assistant at Ravinia Festival's Steans Institute for Young Artists and interning with Midwest Young Artists.  As project manager, Deborah's daily responsibilities at the AEC include research, creation of materials, and managing various aspects of AEC projects.

 

DANA CASTO

Dana Casto is a Project Manager for the Arts Education Collaborative. Dana recently completed a graduate degree in arts management at Carnegie Mellon University and also holds a bachelor's degree in music performance from Capital University. Prior to his graduate studies, Dana was the coordinator of Indianapolis Opera's Young Artist Program and Indianapolis Opera Ensemble. Dana's day-to-day responsibilities at the Collaborative include research, creation of materials, and managing various aspects of AEC projects.

 

MICHAEL CERVERIS, DMA

Dr. Michael Cerveris, Program Associate for the Arts Education Collaborative, comes to us after an extended career in higher education. Trained as a classical musician at the Juillard School, and later at Catholic University and University of West Virginia, Cerveris expanded that background to include performances and experiences with other genre including musical theater, dance, visual arts and multi-media as a teacher, pianist, director, conductor and writer. Recent publications include invited articles in "Transglobal Readings in the Arts" an anthology published by University of Manchester Press. As an arts administrator at the college level, he has served on and chaired faculties at Marshall University, Mercyhurst College, Arizona State University and Duke University.

ELIZABETH KRIPP

Elizabeth Kripp is a Program Associate for the Arts Education Collaborative with a focus on the Leadership Academy. During her 30-year tenure as a teacher, Elizabeth also took on the roles of Intermediate School Department Head, Staff Trainer and member of the Chartiers Valley School District Steering Committee. Among other teaching awards, Elizabeth was nominated by Chartiers Valley for PA Teacher of the Year in 1998. Prior to coming to the AEC, Elizabeth earned a Paralegal Certificate from Duquesne University.
