AEC Welcomes New Manager of Operations & Finance
The Arts Education Collaborative welcomes the newest member of its full-time staff, Adam Kenney as Manager of Operations. Adam comes to the organization with a variety of professional experiences in the visual arts. Most recently, Adam completed a graduate degree in arts management through Carnegie Mellon University’s H. J. Heinz III College. Prior to his graduate studies, Adam was a professional artist, arts educator and studio manager. He developed his diverse administrative skill set working in a variety of environments ranging from collegiate fine art programs to glassblowing production studios. Adam is currently charged with coordinating the operational and financial components of AEC’s programming. Beyond managing everyday operations, he will be working on several new AEC initiatives. For instance, as educational leaders and policy makers call for the integration of 21st century skills Adam will investigate the potential role of substantive arts education in this significant pedagogical trend. He states that “as an artist and instructor, I helped individuals realize their creative potential. As an AEC team member, I look forward to assisting AEC in creating opportunities for educators to continue to develop specialized skills related to their teaching and student learning. This increase in scope and responsibility is exciting and welcome.” Adam can be reached at 412-201-7405 or kenneya@artsedcollaborative.org.
