AEC Music & Visual Arts Frameworks Workshops

The Arts Education Collaborative is pleased to announce that educators are now able to register and pay for the March 11, 2010 Frameworks Workshop online. As part of the redesigned AEC website, online registration and payment will be a feature of all AEC professional development registration from this point forward (educators will still have the option to print out a registration form and pay with a check if they like).
In direct response to needs expressed by area arts educators, the Arts Education Collaborative is pleased to present a
professional development opportunity around the newly published AEC Music and Visual Arts Frameworks. Making use of age-appropriate concepts and scaffolding content, the Frameworks channel the teaching of the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for the Arts and Humanities in music and visual art through recommended process and content indicators.
This day long workshop will address the questions:
-
How is a framework different from a curriculum?
-
How are best practices in education embedded in the frameworks?
-
How can the framework be used in guiding curriculum development?
-
How can the framework be used as a tool to design professional development?
Advanced registration is required by March 1, 2010. A confirmation email will be sent ahead of time with additional information and directions. Workshop details include:
Date: March 11, 2010
Venue: Allegheny Intermediate Unit
Time: 8:00 am -3:00 pm
