PDE's SAS - A Training Workshop
The Pennsylvania Standards Aligned System (SAS) is a collaborative product of research and good practice that identifies six distinct elements (Clear Standards, Fair Assessments, Curriculum Framework, Instruction, Materials & Resources, and Interventions) which, if utilized together, will provide schools and districts a common framework for continuous school and district enhancement and improvement. In partnership with Mariann Fox, Leadership Academy alum and Arts Education Collaborative Fellow, the AEC will present a one day tutorial workshop on November 3, 2010 at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit in Homestead that will engage participants in a hands-on exploration of the SAS portal.
The workshop will focus on answering these questions:
-
What is SAS?
-
How do the six elements of SAS work together to support student achievement?
-
How can the SAS portal strengthen teaching and learning in my classroom, school, and district?
-
How are SAS, Response to Instruction, and Understanding by Design connected?
Ms. Fox will also highlight the application of the tools embedded in the portal to build on current pedagogy to support the foundation of great schools. Click here, for more information on this workshop.
