Mission/Vision/Goals
To identify and preserve the architectural landmarks, historic neighborhoods,
and historic designed landscapes of Allegheny County, and to educate
people about this region's architectural history and urban and landscape
design history. Our education staff helps teachers use the built
environment to enrich classroom curricula, encourage student creativity
and problem-solving skills, and inspire academic achievement. Each
year thousands of teachers and students participate in our in-services,
field trips, neighborhood explorations, and architectural design
challenges.
