Mission/Vision/Goals
In 1997, the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation and the Friendship Development Associates partnered to create the Penn Avenue Arts Initiative (PAAI). In addition to encouraging artists to invest along Penn Avenue through unique loans and grants, PAAI connects community residents to this new economic development strategy through its Youth Arts Program. Community-based art classes and regional link artists, cultural organizations and educational institutions in order to strengthen the quality, diversity, and accessibility of the arts to youth in Friendship, Bloomfield, and Garfield.

Arts Focus
Dance, Music, Literary Arts, Media Arts, Theatre, Visual Arts, We are a linking organization; matching interested youth to appropriate programs throughout the city.

Offerings
Professional Development, Performances for students outside of school, Performances for students in school, Classroom presentations, After school programs, Artists may apply for small grants for working with youth in a broad range of arts-based initiatives. We also assist schools in developing relationships with cultural organizations in Pittsburgh.
