Mission/Vision/Goals
Making artful use of what's at hand, Bricolage uses the distinctive
resources of the Pittsburgh region to create theatrical events that
stimulate a heightened sense of involvement for the audience.
What
excites Bricolage is the connection and interaction between seemingly
disparate elements. "What's at hand" not only
refers to the definition of bricolage, but also to existing
sites within our city's changing landscape, and to human and material
resources. What's at hand can certainly also mean salient
political, cultural, historical and contemporary issues that we
may encounter and react to each day. Whether a new approach to a
classic play or in collaboration on new works, Bricolage seeks out
environments where these various components can resonate as one
cohesive event, an encounter designed to inspire, incite, and amend
in the form of theater. The goal of Bricolage is to connect “what's
at hand”, encourage artists to take creative risks together
and to provide the audience a full-bodied and high quality theatrical
experience.
