ROBERT
M. FRANKEL
Robert
Frankel is the former Vice Chairman of HILB, Rogal and Hamilton
Company of Pittsburgh, Inc and former President of and Principal
of The Frankel Company, a regional insurance brokerage firm from
1950-1989.
Frankel is incredibly active in the Pittsburgh arts and cultural
scene, currently serving as a member of the following boards: Arts
Education Collaborative, Allegheny Regional Asset District, Carnegie
Institute, City Theatre Company, National Foundation for Jewish
Culture and the Three Rivers Arts Festival. In the past, Frankel
served as an officer or trustee at the Pennsylvania Council on the
Arts, Contemporary Arts Stabilization Trust, Presbyterian University
Hospital , Montefiore Hospital Association, United Jewish Federation
of Pittsburgh, Arts and Crafts Center, Rodef Shalom Congregation,
Jewish Healthcare Foundation, Concordia Club, and the School of
Advanced Jewish Studies .
Frankel has been the recipient of several awards including the Pittsburgh
Center for the Arts “Cultural Leadership Award” in 2003, the “Outstanding
Volunteer Fundraiser” award by Western Pennsylvania Chapter, National
Society of Fundraising Executives in 1995, and the CNG/WQED “Volunteer
in the Arts” award in 1988. The “Robert M. Frankel Award for Leadership
in the Arts” at City Theatre Company is named for him.
